One of Utah’s National Parks
Heather grew up sailing with her family, or “camping on water” as she calls it. The thing she loved most about sailing was the adventure, the uninterrupted time with family, and the feeling of living simpy. This dufflebag lifestyle stayed with her well into college, where she would pack her VW GTI and hit the road.
Years later she set out to create the camper that her horizon-chasing, constantly-camping, VW-loving self always wanted. After a few iterations, a lot of learning, and one big refresh, Type 2 Campers was born.
Favorite camping spot:
The ideal camping destination is a region. A new place every night.
Growing up with parents who chartered a van club in the early 80s, Ryan spent his childhood immersed in the vanning lifestyle. What started as an easy, affordable way of making memories as a family slowly turned into a passion passed down from generation to generation.
Ryan bought his first VW bus in his early 30s and was hooked. He quickly became an enthusiast in all things Volkswagen and a student of VW history and parts. This knowledge, and healthy obsession, was exactly what Type 2 Campers needed to find the perfect parts and processes to build the perfect camper.
